Mayor Zenaida Moya caved in to a plea from City Council to incorporate a head tax on cruise tourists. For the next two weeks the airstrip on Placencia Peninsula will be closed to be completely resurfaced. The residents are quite happy about this as there will be no noice for at least 10 days. The question of the day appears to be are all cruise ship programs bad. The report in the Belize News points out why the two existing cruises they operate could be very beneficial to the environment and their society.
