Rural Finance Program to receive $3 million loan from IFAD
05/26/09 05:40
A $3 million loan will be given by the IFAD to Belize for its Rural Finance Program, which aims to help Belize's poor to lift their selves out of poverty and discover their economic potentials.
Lack of access to loans and other financing instruments has prevented rural Belize to develop into a significant contributor to the economy.
The load agreement was signed in Rome last May 22 between Audrey Joy Grant, Ambassador of Belize in Brussels, and Jessie Mabutas, Assistant President of the IFAD.
