Mayor destroys rival's youth project

Citizens to be fined for littering

The San Pedro town council has launched a vigorous campaign to dissuade residents from littering the streets and parks of the city. After a grace period expired officials started writing tickets to offenders.

No utilities provide to Belizean homes say residents

A campaign promise back in 1998 by the People's United Party, has born little fruit. The promise to provide 10,000 new homes for residents of Belize, was partially carried out, but angry residents say that utilities and services to the homes built are still lacking.

Elderly grandmother burgled while asleep

Thieves broke into the house of an elderly grandmother and ransacked it, taking her 32 inch television , clothes, cash and other household items. She has appealed for help in recovering her property.

Bus hi-jackers get away with $8,000

Police are hunting for two hi-jackers who boarded a bus in Sarteneja and robbed a passenger of $8,000. The robbers then ordered the driver at gunpoint to stop the bus to let them off.
